Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR)

MBL are specialists in the implementation of MVHR ventilation systems. We have commissioned a wide variety of systems from full apartment projects to large homes. We have installed systems in passive homes and work in line with best practice standards.

Our design process starts by crafting a bespoke layout, calculated from the architectural plans. It is always a priority to make these systems as invisible as possible, integrating them seamlessly into the fabric of the building. Below you can see some of the different elements the different uses and benefits of an MVHR system.

Heat recovery is a domestic heat recovery system, which is increasingly used to reduce the heating and cooling demands of buildings. Heat recovery systems typically recover about 60–95% of the heat in exhaust air and have significantly improved the energy efficiency of buildings.

A mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery (MVHR), will get rid of unwanted stale air and replace it with fresh air from outside, whilst recovering and recycling the warmth at the same time.

Health Benefits

Feel the difference in a more comfortable environment.

MVHR systems help improve indoor air quality and health by exchanging stale, humid, and polluted indoor air with fresh outdoor air, while recovering the heat energy from the outgoing air. This results in a continuous supply of fresh and clean air, reduced humidity levels, reduced levels of indoor pollutants, and improved thermal comfort. All of these factors contribute to improved health and well-being in the home.

Because of the high specification of the filters many airborne pollen or allergens are kept away from internal living areas. Asthma, hay fever and many serious allergies are often worse at home. Anyone suffering from any allergy would feel far better in a controlled air environment.

Moisture & Humidity

MVHR Controls Condensation. An MVHR system will control moisture and condensation in your property and not only put a stop to condensation on windows but also the development of damp and mould growth, to ultimately improve indoor air quality.

Even when there are no visible signs, the moisture content of the air can have an effect on the property and the occupiers. MVHR is a perfect solution to these effects.

Energy Efficiency

Make Energy Savings! MVHR recovers and reuses up to 95% of the waste heat within your property and has a direct impact on the Dwelling Emission Rate required for the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) energy assessment and ultimately reduce your carbon footprint.

When heat is kept within a property and recycled there is a noticeable difference in heating requirement.  This is a key advantage for anyone looking to improve the efficiency of their home of working environment.

Coming Soon

We’re currently expanding our mechanical services to offer our clients a true all in-one solution.

  • We will be offering all traditional heating installations as well as more modern systems such as air source heat pumps. These ASHP installations can also be specified and paired with our Solar Installs to offer maximum heating efficiency.

  • As with our heating services, we will be offering a general plumbing service that will complement any project or build.

Let’s talk about your project.
